Dear Fiona,
Just a quick note before we jet off to Prague tomorrow to say a big ‘thank you’; to JIGABIT for giving us such a superb evening on Tuesday. I keep on hearing compliments about the music and dancing form so many people. We will certainly recommend you whenever the opportunity arises.
Meanwhile, a very happy and successful 2010 to you all.
Kind Regards - Vivien - 29 December 2009
Dear Jigabit
Thank you very much for playing at our wedding on 16th October 2009 at Sutton Bonington Hall. We and all our guests had so much fun and this includes all generations! The only "complaint" we have is that the time went by so quickly!
A special thank you to Bob the Caller who was very patient and funny explaining all the moves even to the non-Englilsh speakers.
With best wishes - Astrid & Adam Gerrard
Hi Fi,
Thanks so much - you and the guys were fantastic and everyone has said how much fun it was dancing/watching and listening. A couple who are getting married next year have asked for your information which I've passed on - so we might see you then! We had an amazing day, thanks for being part of it.
- Laura and Richard James - 6th August 2009
Dear JIGABIT
We just wanted to send you a rather belated card to thank you for making our evening celebrations such fun. Everyone really loved the band and we had so many people comment that you were the best ceilidh band they'd ever danced to, and we've all been to a fair few over the years! Thanks again. We were so pleased you played at our wedding
- Sarah & Phil Marshall - 18th July 2009
Hi Fiona
The band was just right for our event and all the Ellon Rotarians commended me on my choice of band. Apparently your time keeping was peerless! I just liked the noise! I personally enjoyed the whole event, but was ready for the odd drink at the end!
Who knows we may yet met again……… Thanks!
- Jim - 23rd June 2009
Dear Fiona,
Many thanks to you and the band for a truly amazing night … I was delighted with the number of people we got dancing and you did a great job of keeping us all in order. The party went on until about 4am so I think there’s a few sore heads and lots of sore feet today.
Many thanks - Sarah - Ab Agri - May 2009
Dear Fiona
We just wanted to say a huge massive THANK YOU to you and the rest of the band for the wonderful music and dancing you provided at our wedding. As you had said before, the ceilidh with the help of the caller was a fantastic way for all of our guests to 'have a go', and this helped towards making our day very special with many memories which put huge smiles on our faces!
Many thanks again - J&R Rodgers April 2009
Hi Fiona, Well where do I begin!!! I have to thank you so very, very much for helping to make our party so special. Both Geoff and I were so thrilled with your fantastic band, and the great music you played, that we both got to the stage where we didn't want the evening to end.
The feedback that we have received so far has been nothing but praise for you all, the way that you played music to dance to with the caller, then with the songs that were sung, BRILLIANT!!! (I have never used the word brilliant so many times!!)
The whole evening for us and our guests couldn't have been better, so much so that we are thinking of having another 'bash' next weekend, are you free? - no, only joking. Although to be truthful, I would do it all again in an instance - I must be mad!!!
I would just like to let you know that we have raised £1,200 in donations for 'The Air Ambulance' due to the generosity of our guests and yourselves - many thanks.
Well on that note, all I have to say is just a HUGE THANK YOU, to you and your boys, we couldn't have done it without you - here's to next time!!!!!
Back to the grind stone now for me, getting the barn back to some sort of normality - shame.
With Love, Geoff and Elaine xx April 2009
Dear Fiona and The Gang
Thank very much for providing us with such wonderful entertainment on Saturday evening. The ceilidh really did go down so well and weren't the children marvelous. You really are very very good. Your caller was very clear and even deaf ears coped - with a bit of help from others. I had forgotten just how energetic the dancing was and to think I used to do it every weekend as a teenager - way back. Everyone enjoyed it and it did get everyone involved. The fireworks were great and didn't really cost several million - didn't try to compete with New Year's Eve in the smoke - they only lasted 5 mins in the rain but were a lovely end to the evening. Again many thanks. Barbara. June 2008
Hi Fiona
Just wanted to send you a quick note to thank you for playing at our reception on 4th October 2008. Everyone we have spoke to since has said what a great night it was and how good you all were.... I would appreciate it if you could also pass on our thanks to the rest of the band. We did have a complaint though..... apparently it ended too soon! Oh and my cousin Michael thinks (and I quote) that 'Barn Dancing is the future'.....lol.... at 43 he had never been to one before....
Rob and I had a wonderful day and enjoyed every minute of it - we couldnt have asked for anything more.... Thank you once again. Mandy & Rob
Hi Fiona - Well, I am sorry that I have only just managed to find some time to write and say a massive huge big THANK YOU!!! The wedding, the honeymoon and the shock of having to go back to work has all been hectic!!! Yep, reality is slowing sinking in, that life can't just be one nice big holiday, but we do have to go back to work!!
Leon and I just wanted to write to say......Thanks so much, to you and all the band, for giving us such a good wedding party. We had LOADS of fun and you were really great. I think that we have lots of good photos and some footage (of mixed quality...), if any of it can be of use to you. Sorry that we didn't get to say thanks to you personally, on the night, but we really appreciated the way that you took control of the evening and made it happen. I hope we fed and watered you enough, although the whole evening went so quickly, that I can't really remember if we took care of you properly. I hope so!!
Please pass on our thanks to the rest of the band!
Best regards, and God's blessings.
Jill and Leon - Repton on 5th April 2008
Dear Fiona
Just a little note to say thank-you so much for making my husbands party such great fun. You really are a talented bunch of musicians, and really made our night. The music was fabulous and the dancing was energetic. All in all, it was a jolly good night. Which I can assure you was enjoyed by all who attended, as everyone is singing your praises this morning at the school gate!
I shall be recommending you to a neighbour who is organizing a charity event in Harby.
Please pass on my thanks to the rest of the band.
Regards, Sophie Cottingham - Harby - March 2008
Dear Fiona
Now its back to reality, but before I get too drawn into everything back at work, I just wanted to write and say thank you to the band for making our wedding go night so well. It was a big expense in our budget but it was worth it to see so many happy people and to see 5 year olds dancing with 85 year olds. It really made the night a memorable and fun one for us and all our guests. Please pass on our thanks to all the band. Thank you. Best wishes E Roberts
Hello Fiona
Please thank the band for the lovely evening you gave us on Saturday. My
children were very nervous about the whole thing (Rob always sees the
worst scenario in anything) and so were so pleased how it all went.
The music was great, the calling first class and the ambience etc just great.
Thanks for it all, hope that you all enjoyed it too
Rebecca - October 2007
Hello Fiona,
Just a quick email to thank you and the rest of the band for providing us with such amazing wedding evening entertainment on the 26th August. We could have never imagined how fantastic you would be and are so delighted that we booked you for our special day. The band really helped encourage guests to mingle and we have had numerous guests tell us how wonderful the band was and how it really made the evening such a fantastic occasion. We just wanted to pass this on to you and say a big thank you again for helping us to celebrate our marriage.
Kind regards
Claire & Colin Illingworth - August 2007
Dear Fiona
Yes It was a wonderful and very memorable evening - Jigabit were absolutely fantastic . I really enjoyed playing along with you on the accordion and watching everyone joining in.
Please tell the band and your caller Bob that many of the young people who came [Jo and Kate's friends] were really switched on to ceilidh dancing - they had never had that kind of "dance experience" before - and they "want one for their party /wedding". So thanks to Jigabit, a new generation has now got the bug.
Today we finished putting all the tents away and have taken a trailer load of empty bottles and tins to the bottle bank - and the last of our guests have just gone.
I have put a cheque for £ 250 in the post to you cos I know the band stayed well past your alloted time. I know you are all professional musicians so please accept it.
We will definitely book Jigabit for our next party so expect to hear from us in the autumn!
All the very best to you too. Jacky - August 2007
Hi Fiona, apologies for not being in touch sooner!
We absolutely loved the DVD thank you so much, it brought back many
fantastic memories, you and your band were truly excellent! Everyone
has commented on how much they enjoyed it! We have a thank you card
here for you, but have mislaid your address! Please could you e.mail it
to us.
Fiona, it was great 'doing business with you,' from the first time I
spoke to you, you put my mind at rest and I knew we were doing the right
thing by having you and your band at our wedding, your friendly and
professional manner really put us at ease, thank you.
I hope to see you again someday - Rachel and Chris - 2007
Dear Fiona - I wanted to say thank you for a wonderful evening on Saturday. Everyone really enjoyed themselves and thought you were excellent. Bob did a fantastic job and really made it a fun evening. It was certainly the best birthday party I have ever had. I couldn’t have wished for anything else. Thank you all so much.
Hopefully will be in touch again in the future to organise you for another one!!
Best wishes - Louise - May 2007
Dear Fiona - Well, what can I say to express how much Ian and I enjoyed our Wedding Reception? The evening's entertainment was excellent - everyone said how much they enjoyed your playing. "Best Wedding Reception ever" is one of the many comments that springs to mind - and that was after they had sobered up! We booked you for our Wedding "sound unheard" but now we have heard what you can do, we would have no hesitation in recommending you to other people.
When I initially spoke to you on the 'phone, you were confident that you could provide what I wanted - that you certainly did. Thank you for helping to make our day so memorable. Please could you also pass on my thanks to the other musician and Bob the Caller. Everyone thought Bob was wonderful. He may not realise his achievement, but he had people up on that dance floor who had never danced in their lives and who will probably never dance again. They might have been reluctant at first, but once up, they stayed up, and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. I hope we will be able to think of an excuse to enjoy your company again in the not too distant future. Thank you again.
Yours sincerely F.W.
Please pass on our thanks to the entire band for being such stars at our Wedding Reception on the 23rd Sept. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves - to quote the best man - " I'm really glad I gave that a try it's a cracking laugh" - and the "older"guests who felt they couldn't join in all said how wonderful the music was. And do you know that is the first time I have seen my husband ( it still sounds wired saying that) Dan dance voluntarily in 10 years!!! Wow ;-)
So big thanks :-)
Diane - Sep 2006
Hi Fiona,
I am so sorry that it has taken me so long to get in touch with you - we've
been back from honeymoon for a couple of weeks now so I can't even use that
as an excuse!
I wanted to thank you and the whole band for the absolutley fantastic
ceilidh you did at our wedding in the Trent Building. We'd expected it to be
good, but it exceeded all our expectations. It seems that no-one can talk
about the wedding without mentioning the brilliant time they had ceilidh
dancing!
It really was one of the best parts of day - thank you so, so much! We will
certainly recommend you and hopefully see you again at an anniversary
party?!
Hope you've had an enjoyable summer,
Sarah - July 2006
Fiona
We'll write and send thanks properly, but I just had to send you a quick note to say a HUGE thank you to you, the band and the wonderful caller for doing such a fantastic job at our wedding.
As you know we had quite a few Scots and quite a few musical Scots at the reception, and they know a good Ceilidlh when they see one. I thought the whole band/ caller were good, but my new relatives made it clear to me just how good they were. Fantastic.
Can you send them our very best and our warmest thanks and know that I would happily recommend you, your website and the band and caller to anyone. We are thinking of having an anniversary bash and will be in touch!!!!
Lot of love - Nicola and Alasdair MacLeod - Sep 2005
Dear Fiona,
How rudely belated this is, but you know what it's like - spend a year organising a wedding, then you feel you deserve several months off before the huge task of thanking everyone. (The photographer and Co-ordinator at Seedy Mill Golf club will not be receiving our thanks!)
Many many thanks to you and your team. You were the icing on a brilliant cake. Everyone enjoyed the ceilidh (as if there was any doubt that they would), and they are still talking about it now. Your blend was perfect, the English were particularly appreciative of your Caller (do I remember him being called Bob?), and I had a bloody excellent time. Many thanks for your patience while the tables attempted to clear themselves as well.
I am desperately trying to think up some sort of excuse to hold another ceilidh. When I've thought of one, you'll be the first to know. Thank you again.
Alex and Donna England - August 2003
Hi Fiona,
Well Chris and I have finally come back down to earth (and work, unfortunately!) and have got some time to get round to sending out some thank yous!
We just wanted to thank you and the band once again for playing at our wedding on the 21st June. You, Bob the caller and all the other musicians were just brilliant and we had the most amazing time. Everybody said what a brilliant evening it was with the ceilidh. It was a lot of people's first ceilidh (especially the French!) although we did had some old-timers from Scotland (who all agreed that "it was every bit as good as any ceilidh they'd been to in Scotland" and if that's not a complement I don't know what is!) Basically, it was a huge success! We didn't want you to stop playing (although I have to say that we were very impressed with Wayne Mee as well so thanks for recommending him too!) We'd have danced all night if the hotel had let us, but I suppose it had to end some time! In any case, we know exactly where to come if we ever get round to organising another ceilidh!!
Anyway, thanks again for helping to make our day so memorable and best of luck for the future!
Very best regards,
Elaine & Chris (Barrow!) - June 2003
To Fiona and the band - Just a quick note to say thanks very much for your excellent performance at "The Spectacular" on 6th November. Regards, MC - Nov 2001 - Capital One Bank
Dear Fiona
I just wanted to write a short letter to you and your band to say thank you very much indeed for playing at our Ball on Saturday night. Everyone had a wonderful time and I think the Ceilidh turned out to be one of the most popular events. I managed to take a bit of time off from running around and had a good knees-up, which I thoroughly enjoyed..... Thank you once again. Best wishes - M.S. - 29 April 1997 - Exeter College, Oxford
Dear Fiona – Just writing to express our thanks to you and the band for your part in our wedding day. We had a wonderful day and both thought the band was superb. You had the right mix of background music and “persuasion” – several “first-timers” (ceilidh dancers) commented on what fun a ceilidh can be. Your Caller, Bob, was excellent, and the whole performance was very professional. Should the occasion arise, we will be in touch! Thanks again. J & R
Dear Fiona, Seven weeks have passed since P. and I were married and I didn't want another week to go by without sending you and your colleagues our very great thanks. We had a lovely time on the evening of 29th June at the Midland Hotel. The skill of the band, coupled with their warmth and humour, is a great combination. You were much admired. Having enjoyed listening to you, P and I were wondering if you do many gigs outside the realm of weddings because we would love to come and hear you play elsewhere... Again thanks for playing such a large and successful part in our special day. With every good wish, S&P W.
I would like to say a big thank you to you and your fellow band members for such an excellent barn dance at our wedding at the Dormy House Hotel on 14 July 2001. Stephen and I and our guests (judging from the numbers on the dance floor), thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Despite a number of drinks on our part, your Caller's clear instructions and your wise choice of dances enabled even us to follow the steps! It was great fun. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend your services to any other couple looking for an entertaining evening which appeals to all ages. Thank you again. Best wishes, K.C.
Dear Fiona - Just a quick note to thank you and other others who played at our Wedding. Everyone enjoyed themselves and although a few were a little wary of the prospect of a Barn Dance, no one has stopped talking about it since, and the Video is hilarious! Thanks again for helping make our day so special and memorable. I am sure you will pass on our thanks to the others. I will be sure to recommend you to anyone wanting a fantastic party to remember! Yours faithfully - H.R.
Dear Ms Maurice-Smith and the rest of the band for our Barn Dance - I enclose a cheque which the Best Man had taken home with lots of cards! We enjoyed the evening; it was the first experience of an English Barn Dance for the French people there. Isabelle's brother thought it was really brilliant!. Thanks again. Best wishes - P.&I.H. P.S. We thought your Caller was really good!".
The Wedding was a wonderful occasion - We really appreciated the very important part the Band played in making the evening celebration such a success. We have had many positive comments about the music and I think the amount of dancing that was done said it all. We wouldn't believe how quickly the time went and were so sorry when it was all over! So our very sincere thanks to you and the others for your expertise and enthusiasm. I'd be more than happy to dance to your band again! With best wishes, Yours sincerely, M.D.
We are writing to say a huge Thank You for playing at our Wedding Reception at Stanford Hall. We have received many comments from our friends and family saying how much they enjoyed the evening's entertainment; a lot of our guests had not experienced a Ceilidh before, and they had a wonderful time. The excellent music and good humour of you and your associates on such a beautiful evening created the perfect atmosphere for the evening's celebration. Thank you once again for your services and for adding to the memories of our very special day. A. & T.R.
Many thanks for your wonderful entertainment on Friday at Newstead Abbey. Everyone enjoyed the Barn Dance immensely - compliments have been coming thick and fast! Your Caller was wonderful too, and was a great hit with us all. My daughter wishes to book you again for her 5th, 10th and 25th Anniversary! We shall see!! Once again, many thanks. Yours – J.W.
It's a bit delayed, but we wanted to write and thank you for playing at our Wedding on Friday 28th July at Bestwood Lodge. It was the perfect ending to a perfect day, and we both thought your rendition of Moondance was absolutely wonderful! We'll definitely be recommending you to anyone looking! Thanks again. C & D.G.
A quick note to say thanks very much for the entertainment you provided last week at the Countryside Agency Conference. The Delegates really enjoyed themselves and there were lots of very positive comments. Thanks again. Hope to work with you in the future.
Dear Fiona - Thank you so much for playing at our wedding reception at Stragglethorpe hall on April 7th. We had such a wonderful time, due in no small part to you and your super band! The dance floor never seemed to be empty and there was never a shortage of volunteers. It was exactly what we were looking for - a really good band who ensured everyone had a great time. Please pass on our thanks to all of your "team", especially the Caller who was excellent! By the end of it, we were quite sorry to leave! We have received lots of thanks from our guests who really enjoyed joining in the dancing! We shall certainly recommend you to others. Thanks again. Love from E & M.B
Hi Fiona, Sorry it has taken so long but I just wanted to drop you a line to thank you for last Saturday. It is a long time since I attended a function where absolutely everyone, young and old was quite so gushing about their evening's entertainment. You created a wonderful atmosphere for the evening and I thank you for that. It was a perfect end to a perfect day to see so many people having a whale of a time. Please pass my thanks on to the other members of the band. If anyone wondering whether to book you or not wants to talk to someone for whom you have performed please do not hesitate to refer them to me. It will be a pleasure to sing your praises. Thanks once again for a wonderful evening, D. and C.T.
Just a short note to thank you and the band for your tremendous contribution to the success of our Barn Dance for the King's Heath Cricket Club last Saturday. We have already had many calls from friends who attended to say how much they enjoyed the evening.. The atmosphere created by your excellent playing, not forgetting the superb Caller, made it a very memorable occasion all round. Thank you once again. Yours sincerely J.M.E. June 1997 - King's Heath Cricket Club, Birmingham UK
Dear Fiona - Just a note to thank you and your fellow Band members for making our Company Evening such a splendid one. As you probably noticed, we all had a wonderful time. Your music certainly helped to get everyone involved and soon made us forget to be embarrassed! We hope you enjoyed yourselves as much as we did and we will definitely keep your name in mind when planning future events. Thanks again. T.T.
